On 11th March Durham University Institute of Advanced Study projects Pedagogies of Dispossession and Re-conceptualising Resistance hosted at IAS-BASAS (British Association for South Asian Studies) supported multiple events, the first being Durham University Department of Anthropology and BASAS keynote Lecture by Prof Dina Siddiqi (NYU) to a packed room on the dynamics of garment workers, piety, the veil at this crucial crossroads of today’s Bangladesh and global politics.
