Job: Smuts Research Fellow in Commonwealth Studies
The Committee of Management of the Centre of South Asian Studies invites applications for a Smuts Research Fellowship in Commonwealth Studies tenable at the Centre for three years from 1 October 2015.
The successful applicant will be expected to pursue an approved programme of research relating to any of the countries within South and Southeast Asia which are members of the Commonwealth or which were formerly part of the British Empire. The successful candidate will also be expected to do a small amount of teaching for the MPhil in Modern South Asian Studies. Candidates who are unsure of the eligibility of their proposed subject of research should consult the Director.
The person appointed will be expected either to have obtained a PhD (or equivalent) Degree within the last five years or be on the point of submitting a doctoral dissertation by the time the appointment takes place. The Fellowship is not renewable.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
